Top 50 🐐

Top 50 Rappers of all time! Classic Albums, Skill, Chart Success, Impact, Legacy are just a smidgen of what we can use to rank MC’s from all the eras in the storied history of Rap Music. However, trying to decide said rappers into some sort of list is a bonafide nightmare!! Despite this I have attempted it. The list has changed multiple times in the last 24 hrs since posting and the extensive ‘Honourable Mentions’ Read more…

BuzzBeatzBarz

Esquires Music Venue in Bedford is an amazing little place. The venue opened in 1990 and is housed in a converted 19th century chapel. Covering two floors, both floors of the venue are used for live music. On the ground-floor is a pub named Danny’s Bar. The bar is generally a showcase for local bands and musical acts. There is also a nightclub on the ground-floor which mostly specialises in indie and alternative rock music. Read more…

Trauma – Acceptable Citizens

You get nothing from Darren in a career/hobby that spans 30 years (odd banger aside) and then in the space of 3 years you get not one, but TWO full studio albums! I reviewed the first Trauma album – The God Given Image – a few weeks back and I was glowing in my subjective (remember that) opinion of it and at the time of writing that review, I had Acceptable Citizens in my possession Read more…

Life of Remedy – Spaceman

In the current age we inhabit, the lines have become blurred as far as artistry is concerned. Very often being ‘one thing’ isn’t the route chosen anymore and whilst being multi faceted isn’t a new concept by any stretch of the imagination, in today’s landscape you art is defined as much by your brand and image as where your skills might excel the most. Life of Remedy is a fine example of being multi talented, Read more…

Zedo – Off The Rails

Music can often be great therapy, both listening to and making music are often a therapeutic outlet for many people suffering with mental health issues. What’s this got to do with this review you’re probably asking? Well listening to Bedford MC Zedo’s latest offering you begin to understand the how music really is therapy for the mind. Entitled Off The Rails, we are treated to a concise, focused body of work that raises the bar Read more…

Trauma – The God Given Image

TRAUMA – The God Given Image Ageism is a real issue in Rap Music. The narrative that once you hit a certain point on the calendar you’re too old to rap is one that’s trotted out frequently by “Johnny come lately” fans and artists alike. The era that is prevalent in your formative years is bound to be the one you most fondly associated with but in no other genre is there a ‘age gap’ Read more…

Spyda – Trini Ray

Rap music, in all its guises, is flourishing in the UK right now. I can vividly recall a time in the not too distant past when it wasn’t this way. If you’re as old as me you’ll remember the cringy days of “fake American accents” (I’m talking to you J* J*) and the sheer struggle that our culture has been through in the last 2 decades, to finally be where we are today firmly sat Read more…
